Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress best known for her parts in the film Hum Aapke Koun. She was first known for her role in Tezaab from the 1980s where she co-starred along with the veteran actor Anil Koopor. Her subsequent appearance on screen was in Dil with Aamir. She was born into an Mumbai middle class family and began dancing in her early years. She ventured into acting as an infant and was struggling for a few years as most of her initial films were flops. Then she found her way to success and she went on to be one of the most well-known actresses in the Indian film business. She decided to take a break from her career due to her marriage, before going back to the world of entertainment. In recent times, she was in a major role as a character in Gulaab Gang. The film focused on the struggles of women in India. Dixit was awarded the film eight Filmfare Awards out of the 15 she was up for nominations. Padma Shri - the fourth most prestigious civilian award of India is awarded to Dixit. She is known for her work in the field of social service as well.
